It's always good when someone will recognize that you're trying to get it done. Congrats!

Congrats to the Dawg!

Congratulations to 93.7 The Dawg! It's always a VERY positive thing when a locally-owned and operated radio company cleans the clocks of their corporate-owned and operated competitors!

The guys and gals at The Dawg have reason to be VERY proud! Keep up the great work!

It's interesting they chose to showcase Rocky & Rod in the article when they were #2 in the morning while the Dawg is #1 middays and afternoons..
Rocky does better by herself in midday's..than with Rod in the morning..
Rod looks like he been on an all night binder in the HD picture

Morning numbers

# 1 WTCR 11.6
#2 WDGG 9.4
#3 WKEE 8.1
#4 WBVB 7.4
#4 WAMX 7.4
#5 WMGA 5.4
#6 WBKS 4.4
#7 WRYV 3.4
#8 WKLC 3.9

It's also interesting that a Clear Channel drone is whining about the fact that The DAWG is #1.

Dude, you guys need to hire Bruce Dickinson as a consultant. He brought more cowbell to the sound of Blue Oyster Cult. Just think what he can do for you guys. I can see it now:

"I'm fucking Bruce Dickinson, and I got a fever...a fever for more Tom Roten!!"

Instant ratings bonanza!!

While that may be the case, keep in mind WTCR, in the early to mid-90s, had a 36 share, and during one book was the #1-rated radio station in the United States. Those days are way behind Tri-State radio now. If the powers that be at ClearChannel Huntington/Ashland were on top of things, they would utilize the signature CC "The Bull" and freshen up WTCR's stale sound (new jingle package to replace the 1994 and 1992 analog packages they are still using, new imaging, tighter jocks, new features, etc.). WTCR is the classic case of the "same ole thing" simply not cutting it. It's sad, but true. Couple that with the loss of Dave McLain, Chuck Black's departure, Jesse James' retirement, etc., and the station that was gutted once in the late 90s (leaving only a skeleton) is on its way down even more.

Out with the old and in with the new. It's time for a major change before the third place 103.3 slips to #4 or #5. What a shame.

It's interesting you ran 12+ for just the Metro and not the TSA

What are those?

Is there any other important demos that an ad agency might be interested in like 25-54? Metro and TSA on those?

Oh hell, they don't support your argument why even post them.
But that 75+, congrats!

Why not? It's worked in other markets, including Lexington, Ky. It's quite obvious what they are doing now is not working and what The Dawg is doing IS working. The Dawg sounds much younger, tighter, and fresher.

WTCR has been on the decline for many years and NOTHING has been done to at least attempt to stop it. Going from a 36 share to a 10 in 13 years and no changes . . .

The point is still:

A station owned by two local guys beat the giant corporation!

And that is GREAT !

I concur. WTCR's sound is terribly dated. My parents listen to WTCR. They don't think Rockey and Rod are funny.

I ran in the Chuck over the weekend and I am now even more convinced that WTCR's demise can be closely tied to Chuck's departure. Plus someone on this board already mentioned the other talent changes at WTCR in recent books.

I think the Dawg should start planning a big promotion for next book.
If beating the GG giant is good once, it will be better twice.

Get a picture of yourself standing between John Inman and Sergio Glenn on the sideline - anytime you think you look fat just look at it....

Congrats Rocky and all there at Kindred (including my old high school band drum major Rich Myhrwold). Rocky, you know you're my favorite female country DJ - and if you change the music I'd listen....
