WSAZ off the air?

If it's about broadcasting, radio, TV, satellite, cable, this is where to talk about it.

WSAZ off the air?

Post by cgarison »

Did WSAZ go dark at 7:00 am this morning or was there an issue with their feed to Armstong Cable?

Big fire in Huntington's downtown this morning - in the area of 3rd street beween 4th and 5th Ave. It was reportedly an empty 3 story apartment building with an electric supply business behind it.

Clear Channel radio stations had a brief outage between 7 and 8 AM and other power was off, including traffic lights. The fire was within 5-6 blocks of WSAZ and WOWK so either could have been affected....

No, but I was on the phone with Mom this morning when she mentioned that WSAZ was not broadcasting.

I will be home in 13 days.

The midday news report on the WSAZ website referenced the cable outage and attributed it to cables being damaged by the fire.
