25 NCE Apps. for WV

Post by Tom Taggart »

Plus another 60 or more for Ohio, didn't bother to check PA.

Mostly mountains and south, two accepted for filing, Romney and Thomas.
Several around Wheeling including our buddy Brian for 90.7 and the hare Krishnas at New Vrindaban. However, several others which will be mutually exclusive (Martins Ferry, for one MX on 90.7) and Bridgeport, Ohio

90.9 for Marietta--4kw at 296 m AHAAT--it's somewhere back of Lowell, probably a cell tower along I-77. Covers lots of cows.

Settlement window opened --extend until January. Notice today in the daily digest.

To find the list, go to >FCC.Gov>Search>Media Bureau Consolidated Data Base (link on left side). Then Applications to get search window.

Enter file number as BNPED 200710% (where % is wildcard symbol)
and state--you will get a long list.

Of the Ohio bunch it looks like it's about 80% religious groups. No surprise there.

If you follow the path you should get a screen that says "application search"

At File No enter BNPED in the first box, then 200710% in the second box.

At State enter WV

You should shortly see a list of 25 applications.
One has been dismissed, leaving 24 active apps.
Two have been accepted for filing (Romney and Franklin,_not Thomas,) which starts the clock for filing petitions to deny. These are "singleton" and are not MX to any other apps.

The rest are "Tendered for Filing" and are mutually exclusive to one or more other apps. The Commission has opened a 60 day window for filing settlements.

It will be intersting to see who gets what.. I noticed WUFM (RadioU) Columbus applied for many stations to expand their network but we'll see I know their MX'ed on quite a few. I looked at a lot of people that applied, there appears to be a lot of MX'ed.. reminds me of that great translator run a while back.
