Sign of the Apocalypse! Imus on RFD-TV!
I watch RFD-TV quite often. It has cool features about old restored farm tractors and hokey old TV shows like the "Big Joe Polka Show".
RFD (Rural Free Delivery) TV is aimed at the farmers and down-home audience who still enjoy watching re-runs and current shows i.e.:
•Pop Goes The Country
•Jim Owens Classic Country
•California Country
•Farmweek
•FFA Convention
•FFA “LIVEâ€

I used to get RFD tv on satellite.
They had programs like tractor of the week and this old barn.
One of the neatest was when they would give tours of barns and sheds from the corn and wheat factory farms of the midwest. Some of the barns were as big as an aircraft hangar and they needed to be because of the gigantic tractors and implements that were used. Their main host was a guy named Orion (Or-ree-on) Samuelson. He also had a show on anique farm stuff.
Maybe RFD was the only satellite channel Imus could get?

Back to the topic at hand. I think it's a lot like what Bob Seger sang "I used her, she used me, neither one cared, we were gettin' our share"
Say RFD-TV goes to a cable company serving a Boston suburb. RFD guy says we have Classic Tractors and Porter Wagoner. Cable guy says "In Boston... not interested" Now, RFD guy says "We have Imus", and the cable guy says "Yes, we are interested"
Imus needed a cable outlet and he got one.
Everyone wins.

No doubt that's true (and good) for the larger markets, but when a million Ma & Pa Kettles complain about Imus playing "They don't make Jews like Jesus anymore"... or use language that they in their own homes find distasteful... it might get interesting. And let's face it, RFD is selling to farmers etc... not Bostonians.
But something tells me that the new Imus will not anything like the old, and so what I said above may be a moot point.

This morning (and I don't know if it was RFD-TV or the radio folks) they blanked out what in context seemed to be "pissed me off" and later they blanked out "hell of a."CoolBreeze wrote:or use language that they in their own homes find distasteful... it might get interesting.
And Bostonians need a good dose of the Wilburn Brothers just like everyone else.
