What makes you think it was a new director? Automation could do the same thing. Maybe they sat on black because someone wasn't ready.

I see where WSAZ is looking for two Technical Directors.
Somebody leave or get moved up?
Might explain some of the switching mistakes.

Overuse of alcohol during work hours could explain some of the mistakes. At least that's the excuse we use at my job.
