Post by ashton »

I just converted my dell to a leopard. Very cool stuff - Next step is midi turntables. Anyone here running mac for their mobile DJ bidness?

I'll be buying a macbook in the next week or so anyway, but I wanted to try before I buy, and this setup seems to work well for me.

I would consider a smart arsed Vista comment, but I have to say for the most part that Vista is doing pretty well on my newest PCs.

No need to completely convert to mac from your vista box.. Run dual boot on separate drives. I have my IDE drive running windows and SATA running leopard.

My latest box (Project Spare Parts) has a number of SATA drives in it and I can go into the BIOS and select the OS of Choice. It is pretty neat to flip Between Vista, Server 2008, and Ubuntu. The is the second PC I have done like this.

And I laugh when the folks in my employers IT group send out emails how their 3 TB servers are running out of space when I have 5 TB of space between to desktop PCs and portable hard drives. Amazing how cheap storage is nowadays.
