Toledo water problem
Why panic now? This has been going on for years.
Maybe it is Soylent Green.
Anyway I hear MCHM kills it.

Re: Toledo water problem
Not to sound like a crazy conspiracy theorist or some whack job liberal, but these huge water issues like the one in Charleston and the one we recently had in Bridgeport, PA look like excuses for water companies to get grant money from the Federal government to rebuild and modernize the aging infrastructure that is hard to maintain and is not adequate to supply the demand for water in the area. I don't see American Water company associated with Toledo incident, but they were responsible for the issue in Charleston and Bridgeport.

Re: Toledo water problem
It is troubling that Toledo water company would not release lab results.
That might mean: Nothing wrong
Something wrong not related to Algae
Incompetence in measurement
Problems with measurement over a long period
Sabotage
My guess is that nothing was wrong, some enviro-wacko panicked when he saw the green water
and went to the press, who were waiting for a big story to sell bottled water and filters.
We don't need Toledo now that we have Ebola.

Toledo's water system is a government run system, not a private company...at least it was when I lived there.

From the articles I have read, you would be correct, but in the realm of vague journalism, this fact has not been stated directly in the articles that I read.Tom Taggart wrote:Toledo's water system is a government run system, not a private company...at least it was when I lived there.
Do newspapers hire j-school grads or a bunch of wannabe bloggers to write these stories?

Is that just a straight line for, "Is there a difference?"cgarison wrote:Do newspapers hire j-school grads or a bunch of wannabe bloggers to write these stories?

As far as j-schools grads vs. bloggers, if disruptive professors like Jeff Jarvis at CUNY get their way then there will be no difference and newspapers will go the way of the broadsides a couple of ceturies ago.

Post 6000.... License plate flipper that would be worth a formal appearance before a judge for obstruction of justice as well as an illegal modification to a motor vehicle in Maryland.
