Harts Creek Diversity Festival Cancelled

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

Harts Creek Diversity Festival Cancelled

Post by genlock »

Police are looking for two more people in the torture, beating and sexual assault of a Charleston woman, and the Logan County prosecutor said he believes the woman first met one of her abductors over the Internet.
The two people being sought by police are believed to have picked up 23-year-old Megan Williams from Charleston and transported her to Big Creek, where she was held captive in a home for at least a week.

Police have arrested six people already. The FBI has entered the case because it is a possible federal hate crime, authorities said.

The victim is black and the alleged assailants are white.

Prosecutor Brian Abraham said he heard from one of the arresting officers that Williams met a Logan County man on an Internet site.

Isn't every violent crime a hate crime?? Why then when arent blacks charged with hate crimes when they assault/murder white and latino people??? :? I mean really.... lets drop the double standard..

sorry to be crude about it but IMO theres more than enough evidence against these guys and gals to put them away for a long long time without even having to bring in the whole "hate crime" crap...
Doesn't MSNBC stand for the Media that Spins the News for Barrack's Cabinet?

Kidnapping is enough of a federal crime to lock the bunch away forever.

Kidnapping is enough of a federal crime to lock the bunch away forever.

Systematic torture by all involved will probably lead to an insanity/stoned/cult defense.

Would be interesting to know if/how these people are related.

From the AP:

The home is in a forlorn part of Logan County about 50 miles southwest of Charleston, where the scattered homes are marked by "No Trespassing" signs. An old shed linked to a mobile home by an extension cord is what authorities say became a hellish prison for Williams.

"Forlorn".

I thought that was Mud Fork or Yolyn or Pardee or Crystal Block or someplace like that.

There are a few mothers/sons/daughters in this fucked up bunch.

CNN is coming to Logan tomorrow. I can't wait to see the people they pick to talk to. WSAZ may come down tomorrow during our local call-in show at 9:30 am.

Twisted Gun is in Mingo County. It is one of the nicest golf courses in the state, and its built on reclaimed mine property.

The Brewster guy was involved in a stabbing earlier in the year, was that the famous "guttingg" or evisceration event in Big Creek?

Twisted gun is an incredible course. I forgot it was in Mingo. So, yes, all of Logan Cty. is forlorn.
