Re: Back to You on FOX
I think it's the only new show I'm adding. Well, there's Survivor, too...it has a WWE Diva and a radio personality. If/when they exit, I'll be done with it for another decade, I'm sure. Oh....Kid Nation, too. I hated it (it reeked of the same "casting" as any other "reality" show), but I'll watch it. At least another time or two.genlock wrote:Not too bad.
He actually wasn't fat...he was just kinda round and round-faced...an endomorph....The little fat news director...
He made me laugh.....
Whoa! Slow down, there, cowboy! This was a mere sitcom debut, not porn!...was sopt on.
Regarding other tv, I'm considering dropping CSI, CSI:Miami, TNA:Impact, and, believe it or not, Heroes. They all seem irrelevant and/or unrewarding at this point.
And what happened to cable reality shows Hey Paula, Confessions Of A Matchmaker, and The Springer Hustle? Though teasing next episodes, all three seemingly vanished without completing their seasons/series.

Back To You had a good first show rating. I missed the first episode, but I'll be adding it to my DVR program list.

Re: Back to You on FOX
Replying to my own post....feels very weird.....
....although I'm finding I almost have to BT it to get to see it. This is the first year where I must rely on VOD, internet VOD, and BT to see what I want.
Which is stunning me. And frustrating me.
And making me wonder what I'm doing with my life.
I get an hour back on Thursday nights....
There were five programs my DVR wanted to record between 8 and 9 Thursday night!
There were 9.5 hours of programming I wanted to see between 8 and 11!
Dang competition.......!
...and all this while there's almost nothing, at all, on Wednesday nights.
Advertising-driven TV schedules appear just as likely to be killing TV as advertising-driven radio formats are contributing significantly to the possible killing of radio....although backwards/reversed. To accomodate ad-buyers, TV jams all its best content into one or two nights, forcing viewers into missing content they would more than gladly watch on other nights; also to accomodate ad-buyers, radio jams all its content into one or two demos, denying any content at all to those who would otherwise gladly listen to radio to get it.
We're all longterm stupid.
I'll probably go through to the finish....and hate myself.....
New TV season shocks and frustrations:
NBC just loves to Tivo-bork...in the NBC case, some programs (the 9p ones, I believe) are scheduled for :61, bumping a following program on another channel.
College football on Sunday night??? And Tuesday night???
CNBC has seemingly walked right into FBN's strategy, apparently not having a clue just how Northeast- and NY-centric they are (FBN's attack is based on "CNBC is Wall-Street-focused; FBN will be Main-Street-focused"). In fact, in the last two or three weeks, CNBC has actually been running promos for WNBC's new "New York Nightly News" 7p newscast, saying that there's finally a newscast when you're at home to see it. And CNBC just shelved "On The Money," the younger-ish, more casual, business-news-oriented (as opposed to the strong market-lean throughout the day), 7p wrap-up of the day, again seemingly leaving themselves wide-open for an FBN attack.
Ugly Betty, which began as one of the cuter and funnier shows in memory, has completely devolved into a gay-themed, hyper-speed soap opera that is now completely inappropriate for the 8/7p slot.
Fox said the remaining episodes of Anchorwoman would be made available on the internet; that never happened.

Keeping CSI, CSI:Miami, and Heroes (which, so far this year, is about five times as interesting as last year's was)....really thinking I need to drop TNA:Impact (they picked the absolute worst time to double the length of a show that makes no sense, has no point, cannot be understood, and is almost worthless)....Regarding other tv, I'm considering dropping CSI, CSI:Miami, TNA:Impact, and, believe it or not, Heroes. After the first 3 shows for me.
Although I "watch" a lot of tv, I don't really watch a lot of TV. Last night, I watched it. From a recliner. From a recliner in which I dozed off several times. I forced myself to stay awake for the main event and was just unbelievably confused by it. The heels are now babies? How and when did I miss that? And there was so much action so fast from so many (half of whom I either didn't recognize or couldn't tell apart) that I had no idea what was happening. Or why. Or what it had to do with the supposed "Superbowl and World Series all wrapped into one" coming up this Sunday. And the finish came from one of the least-impressive moves of the previous few minutes. And that Kurt Angle stuff, along with Sting's reactions,....well, what kind of nonsense was that?
And they now demand that I spend twice as much time confused and dozing off?
Yeah.....that's just gotta go.
