The sad thing about this is no one, black or white, seems to know why they are coming. The Logan County NAACP as a whole has stated on numerous occassions they are very happy with the job the Logan County Prosecuter and the Sheriff's Dept. are doing. The black community is also stating that they realize this was an extremely isolated incident, and not represenative of the general feeling of most in the county. With the people that did this to girl, you are dealing with a sub-species of people who are barely human, let alone spokespeople for a racist county, which Logan County is not. If Sharpton and his bunch comes they will bring a whole lot of screaming people, while the people of the county, black and white, will stand on the sidelines, sickened by what they see.

I would pay big bucks to see Al Sharpton sing/dance or otherwise perform in Logan. I like his candor although he is way too radical than for southern WV or the rest of the democratic world outside of big cities with a large minority population.

That makes me the minority in Philly when the real minority is the majority.

I had the same thought a few years ago.

what i'm wondering is if sharpton even knows everything about this story and if so, i'm even more curious to see what he has to say...

Well, since the rest of the mainstream media seems to ignore such minor details as the fact the local NAACP has stated on the record that the police and the prosecutor have done a great job with this case so far AND that the NAACP DOES NOT WANT this prosecuted as a hate crime, I doubt REV. Sharpton knows much about the case.

Anyway, The New Black Panther Party is due to start arriving tomorrow, although no one, black or white, wants them or needs them here. Sharpton's people say he probably won't come.

WSAZ came to the station today and TAPED some footage of the kid here on the air, along with my boss. Interesting comments from one African-American gentlemen, if they use it.
