I watched that as it happened last night! Wow! He looked like he was going to cry!! LOL!!
ESPN Radio had a quote from him and he said that it was "instinct" to go after the ball as it was rolling towards the sidelines.
Let me tell you, he's full of crap. I'm on the sidelines every game and when the ball comes towards me, I'm moving the other way because with that ball a couple of 300 pound guys follow.

They forgot to tell me that rule. Maybe the guys in the booth were secretly after me and that's why I got sideline duty. They were trying to get me killed and make it look like an accident.

Another rule should be "stay way away from the pylons, even though you can be close to them... they are magnets for that silly, oblong ball and those who come with it". I had to run away from a play that came at me when I was too close to them.
