And only four years later Rick Johnson, myself and Randy Damron (on weekends) would be working there. What did they play? Christian music, that's what. It was like working in a church.

Across the hall on the WCAW side we used to call the VAF boys "Jockies for Jesus".

Yes, with preacher man Paul Miles conducting the services.

I was there 68-69 and for a few minutes in 71. Some of the other on air fellows were Dick Kiser and Bill Hart. Yep, I knew and liked Randy and Jim.

CoolBreeze do you remember the news man's name ... Joe something? I always admired his intensity.

Known Jarvis since the early 60's.
Worked briefly with Bill Farrell at WSAZ then.
He was radio, I was over in tv.
Fred Riley too.

Same here. No tangible recollection. BTW I enjoyed hearing your old CAW aircheck posted by Jeff. I did PM drive too. Every so often after my shift I'd give The Poppa a call and shoot the breeze a little bit. Turned out he dug some country songs and checked out CAW all the time. Guess I'm not alone in thinking he was one of the true superstar personalities of Charleston radio.
