Good Evening Gents...from the Land of TV
Just wanted to drop in and say "Hi" to all of you. Finally figured out how to get registered, get a password and get logged in.
Now, when you guys ask TV Questions...I can hopefully be of assistance and answer them...at least from WCHS and Fox 11.
Glad to be here and look forward to spirited conversation.

OK... I have a TV question, but it's about WOWK:
I watch the local channels on an antenna. WOWK's audio is almost HALF of all the others. Every time I switch channels, I have to turn the volume up full blast just to hear WOWK... and sometimes that's not enough. I've never seen (or in this case heard) such a disparity in audio before. This has been going on since the big switch.
You would think some engineer would pick up on this after all this time.

Pauley Pauley Pauley! Admit it public, on this message board, that you miss me more than you would miss an absent family member.

Hey Scott...
Me, Pretentious? Never dude...never. There are three of us...Dad is 1, I'm 2 and I have a son that's 3. Without the number at the end, confusion abounds, worlds collide and generally bad things happen.
Jay,
Goes without saying dude. I do still occasionally hear the dulcet tone of your voice on the airwaves of my chosen FM channel.

In regard to the audio thing, I'm just a pitiful Promotion guy and all I can tell you is that there are many many problems out there concerning many many things that I do not understand. We have our own audio issues from time to time (*cough* - Satellite Companies suck - *cough*). Maybe one of the many Engineers haunting the esteemed halls of this board would have a better answer than I...

Just what we need, another tv moron.
Admit it Paul, you miss me more than you miss Nunley. Hell, he's only a few counties away. You can drive over there to cousin lovin' country any time you want and see him. I'm in a whole 'nother state!

Heck Bob...Jay and I may as well be from the same place...we have nearly the exact same background and I did have some very very attractive cousins...and as for favorites...Jay is still here. You ran away!
You guys needed a TV guy here to break it up. Everyone knows TV Rulz:)
I do still have a radio in the car though as the 50" Plasma just doesn't do the windshield justice.

Re: Good Evening Gents...from the Land of TV
perhaps i can help with the audio problem. WOWK has let most people go. The Master controll operator just imputs a show and turns around never to look at the audio levels, to do everything else that has to be done as he is the only man in the room, no tape man no audio man no engineer just him. the same thing happens with net shows. then again management dosen't care as they are saving money. It's all about money. WOWK ran with lipsync problems because they would not buy a unit to delay the audio. I complained daily about this, some stations still have lipsync problems because they have the video the audio dosen't matter the picture is everything. also does WOWK still have that HUM in the studio audio? I try not to listen as I don't really care for Charleston news. Did you ever notice how WOWK has always wanted to be a Charleston station? Just look at their station ID's The FCC just dosen't check anything anymore. should be Huntington-Charleston not Charleston-Huntington.
