Smart Phones ... suck

More and more people are receiving anything and everything on their Smart Phone. I'll send things to my friends that MUST be viewed on a computer screen (along with the audio) to get the full benefit but some of my friends attempt to watch them on their stupid phones instead. They often miss the entire point of what I'm sending. They often never watch or see or hear the entire thing because they're out doing something, but they'll answer nonetheless by Smartphone with some stupid comment.

I cant blame the phone for this abuse... only the owner. Smart phones were never meant to replace computers, only small parts of them. Looking at a video or animation or even (God forbid) a movie on a Smart Phone is like watching an IMAX film on a postage stamp.

So... I now have a list of people I will no longer send anything of interest to. Let em spend all day pushing buttons on their damned Smart Phone while eating, driving, walking, talking, ordering, and everything else we used to do with focus, and without a stupid phone in our hands at all times .

I didn't get the whole smart phone craze, either, until I was assigned a Blackberry. Now, I get it.

I used to send and receive maybe two or three texts per month. Now, I do two or three per day, at least.

Would I die without it? No. Would I, by choice, ever go back to dumb flip phone? No. I'm too far in this to get out now.

Wanna have some fun? Go to your local phone store and tell them that you just want A PHONE. My phone died last year. I went to the phone store and explained to them that I want a phone...period. I don't need it to comb my hair or make me toast...I just want a PHONE...something to call people and to receive calls, text etc. They looked at me like I was from outer space. I am convinced that smart phones and social networks will be the downfall of society.

My issues are not with the smart phones or the users of smart phones. My issues is with the data plans from Nazi like carriers (Verizon, AT&T, Sprint) who charge me $20.00 for text messaging when it costs them virtually nothing and they lock down my phone and do not allow me to use it the way I want to use it.

Yes, I am an Android user and Yes, I like "sticking it to the man," although I had no intention of being this way when I purchased my unlocked Nexus to put on my AT&T account. But the carriers in the last 18 months have made me into a phone plan freedom fighter.
