New twist on crime: Stealing gifts right from your door.

One of the most brazen crimes Kanawha County deputies are seeing is thieves stealing package deliveries right off of porches around the county. That's why they say, this time of year, you should keep an eye out this time of year for your neighbors.

"Just yesterday, we had some suspects driving around the Cross Lanes area stealing some packages that had been delivered by some of the parcel carriers that had been left on porches," Lt. Crosier said. "Dial 911 and we will get an officer out there as soon as possible and hopefully catch that person before they break into a house."

Lt. Crosier says these recent thefts have been spread out all across Kanawha County, and not really isolated to any particular area.
