It's the end of an era.

I've noticed WTOP Newsradio in the glass enclosed nerve center including more and more actualities from ABC...

So, as you probably know, CBS Radio is being sold to Philly based Entercom.

So, why, pray tell, did a bunch of CBS Radio O&O's just re-up or agree to begin with Westwood One news?

Separately, it's always amused me that Hubbard's DC WTOP in the glass enclosed nerve center carries CBS (and ABC), while a CBS O&O, WNEW, tried to compete with them from Baltimore. It didn't work out well. CBS gave up and leased WNEW to Bloomberg, who now operates it, and focuses on Baltimore. DC and Baltimore are VERY different places, and do not share an identity, an ethos, or even sports teams.

Separately, at least two SiriusXM streams have dropped AP Radio News for Westwood One: POTUS and Progress.
