Classic Rock songs that should be played, but aren't
WRSG is beginning the transition to 80s/90s/2000s from 4 p.m. until midnight, which should take full effect in December 26th, 2019. However, (and Scott Reppart can help mightily here, along with most of you) we would like to play classic rock deep cuts that will pass lyrics muster. Government Mule and Poison come to mind, with the obvious ones from artists known for some monster hits that come close to being overplayed, but are still popular, especially among my teen students. Please start giving me your choices, then the best sites to download.
Also, we'd like to run BLUES overnights, but this is taking a long time to implement. If anyone knows a music library service that provides this music, please let me know that as well. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!

Re: Classic Rock songs that should be played, but aren't
Jay nailed a few excellent selections ("Gone Shootin'", "The Low Spark Of High Heeled Boys", "Jailbreak", "The Seeker") and threw in one that I would probably never PLAY, but would love hearing (Rush's "What You're Doin'").
Going by his list of artists, I would add (providing whatever station was being programmed was not playing them already)...
AC/DC
"Rock And Roll Train"
"Whole Lotta Rosie"
Led Zeppelin
"Hey, Hey What Can I Do?"
"Out On The Tiles"
Aerosmith
"You See Me Crying"
"Lick And A Promise"
"Mama Kin"
"Chip Away The Stone"
Bad Company
"Shooting Star"
CCR
"It Came Out Of The Sky"
Bob Seger
"Sunspot Baby"
Doors
"Land Ho"
Jimi Hendrix
"1983"
ZZ Top
"Pearl Necklace"
Rush
"New World Man"
Fleetwood Mac
"Eyes Of The World"
Rolling Stones
"Luxury"
"Dead Flowers"
"Star Star"
"Rocks Off"
Eagles
"The Last Resort"
Van Morrison (all may be a little to 'Poppy')
"Jackie Wilson Said"
"Blue Money"
"Real Real Gone"
Steppenwolf
"Monster"
Thin Lizzy
"The Cowboy Song"
"Whiskey In The Jar"
And if you let me step out on my own here...
April Wine
"You Could Have Been A Lady"
Pink Floyd
"Mother"
Bachman-Turner Overdrive
"Hey You"
"She's Keepin' Time"
"Givin' It All Away"
Foreigner
"The Modern Day"
Saga
"On The Loose"
Derek & The Dominoes
"Why Does Love Got To Be So Sad?"
Orion The Hunter
"So You Ran"
Dio
"Mystery"
"Hungry For Heaven"
Krokus
"Long Stick Goes Boom"
"Bedside Radio"
"Stayed Awake All Night"
Blue Oyster Cult
"In Thee"
"Fireworks"
"Going Through The Motions"
Yes
"America"
"Wonderous Stories"
Mott The Hoople
"All The Way From Memphis"
Ten Years After
"I'd Love To Change The World"
Roxy Music
"Love Is The Drug"
George Harrison
"What Is Life?"
And if you let me go with a RESERVED list from WTCS on you...
Judas Priest--"Heading Out To The Highway"
Planet P--"Why Me?"
Martin Briley--"The Salt In My Tears"
Slade--"Run Runaway"
Cheap Trick--"Everything Works If You Let It"

Well, Jay, I had a stoke on July 14th, so I'm a little out of the loop. Let's check in with Greg and see what he has to say. Greg?...

Re: Classic Rock songs that should be played, but aren't
First of all, Scott, I hope you are getting stronger each day; prayers definitely going up for you. As to your lists, I am committed to getting this music on. IF I purchase a music library, hopefully I can get most of these songs, but some services will add them ala carte-obviously if they only have them. I only hope that I don't upset the stations that are willing to help us with our problems, but most of the songs we would play would never be aired by them. I just want to air songs that would be appropriate on a high school radio station. I've been adding new Hot AC and Top 40, along with country, but the feedback I'm getting is to go in another direction, which brings me back to what I posed almost a year ago here.
By the way, we will soon be airing BLUES music overnight. I've found a new source for what I need to get. I just want us to be the most-unusual radio station you can find anywhere. Gentlemen, thanks to all the choices you've given me. IF there is a service beyond, say, uncompressedmusic.com, that would provide these songs, I would have no problem purchasing the library. Again, I've got to keep the Tyler County Board of Education happy.
In the next few months, our weekday evenings will be mostly transformed. I will defintely keep you posted, and, in the meantime, if you come up with other selections, please share!

Reps, sorry to hear about that.
O God, the strength of the weak and the comfort of sufferers: Mercifully accept our prayers, and grant to your servant Scott the help of your power, that his sickness may be turned into health, and our sorrow into joy; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Jay, thanks for the prayer! I know I'm getting better every single day and will continue to do so until I'm better than new. My right lower arm/wrist/hand/fingers need the most work but as I said: there's improvement every day!
Therapy is helping greatly and so is prayer.
True part of the story? I realized that something was wrong when I had the stroke because I was riding the riding mower and thought that there was a squirrel in my pants.
Seriously!
