...back to classic hits. And voicetracked (locally?, partially). WV Metro News at the TOH. The syndicated Throwback Nation at night. Musically it's very few oh-wow songs many of the tired and true playlist standouts, think the same old OMD, Journey, Billy Joel, Foreigner. Very few pop-like songs that made the original WFGM so good.
This makes for a very crowded classic hits market. Overlapping with their own Sky 106.5 (AJG IS WVRC!), that right wing man's WBKE Buzz 98.3, WGIE True Oldies Channel, and many of the same songs on Jack-FM. Yet, the market still has NO adult contemporary station. And quite honestly, not a true CHR. WVAQ is beginning to lean more and more hot a/c especially overnights playing relatively mostly golds/recurrents. Even during the day their WVAQ throwbacks are taking over - making it more and more a gold based CHR by day.
Also, WGIE is listed for sale on a couple of radio stations for sale sites. "Station can be ran remotely" is prominently displayed. Anyone know where the main studio and/or office is for WGIE? I assume in the old house in Ravenswood?

Heard Virtual Jock's Albie Dee doing afternoon drive. Don't You Forget About Me by OMD and Girls Just Want To Have Fun by Cyndi Lauper played both AM and PM drive. This could be one of the most repetitive banal a$$ programmed classic hits station ever.
