Party in Big Creek
Metronews:
A Logan County man remains in critical condition after a fight left him disemboweled. Jerry Sparks, a 28-year-old from Chapmanville, suffered a knife wound that exposed his internal organs.
"According to the medical technicians, his intestines were outside his body," says Logan County Sheriff Eddie Hunter, who called it the worst stabbing or cutting incident he's investigated in 30 years in law enforcement. "My understanding was that they gave him 20 pints of blood. He was out until they resuscitated him at the hospital."
Field dressing deer, also called gutting, is a necessary step in preserving meat from deer harvested in the wild. Field dressing must be done as soon as possible in order to ensure rapid body heat loss, and prevent bacteria from growing on the surface of the carcass. Field dressing helps maintain the overall quality of the meat.
