According to the demo, it would work exactly like a thumb (or flash) drive would work. The software is what makes this thing really tic and it seems as though it is mac compatible.

there have been products like this for macs for ages, its just finding one in WV..

Yeah, it will work on the Mac. FOBM is right, your OS should automatically pick it up as external storage.
