School bus overtime under investigation... From the Gazette:

A former county transportation supervisor is under investigation for overtime violations, Kanawha school officials and bus drivers say.

Nancy Bowen-Kerr, once a supervisor at the Elkview bus terminal, is on paid administrative leave, according to school officials wishing not to be named, citing the confidentiality of personnel matters.

Bowen-Kerr was working in the office of pupil transportation in Crede when she was suspended. Her annual salary is $44,578.80, according to records on the Bboard of Education’s Web site.

Prior to 2007, Bowen-Kerr allegedly approved some employees’ overtime pay so they could pay back tabs owed for Mary Kay cosmetic products, according to a county school official. Bowen-Kerr’s family member sold the cosmetics, according to the official.

The overtime paid is believed to be in the tens of thousands of dollars, the official confirmed.
