Not only an truly wonderful voice, but somebody who was neither afraid nor ashamed to bring "high" art (no pun intended...yes, she was a coloratura soprano) to the uninitiated.

All of you who worked Public Broadcasting back "in the day" know that she was a fixture, then. Always will be.

Beverly Sills AND Chris Benoit die within a the same two week period? Damn, tell me that's not freaky.
