Translators are a Pox on the FM radio dial.

I'm a chick & it doesn't bother me in the least!
Plus I work alot with breast cancer awareness and I think
whatever it takes to get people involved with the cause, so be it.
However, there are too many women that are too uptight and
don't understand how to market to younger kids, especailly males.
I think that guy hit the nail on the head.

Greatest billboard ever.
I'm tired of these self-righteous pinheads who have to complain about everything they don't like.
If you're not a male between the ages of 18-34 who loves rock n roll, then the Blitz is not the station for you. Period. Quit whining and move on down the dial.
Enough with rock stations being unfairly targeted by people who don't understand the lingo and lifestyle of the demo.
I wish someone would start giving country and AC radio a hard way to go for a change...

A friend of mine recently underwent treatment for breast cancer -- luckily it appears that she's going to be okay. It's a terrible thing for anyone to have to endure.
But, by the same token, if joking about boobs helps raise awareness of breast cancer, particularly among a group (M18-34) that is less inclined to be aware of it, then that seems like a good thing to me. Appealing to an audience's selfish interests is one of the most powerful things that can be done.
I understand that Boyd wants to make sure that the issue is treated seriously, but in my estimation this is a case of hypersensitivity on her part.
To my knowledge there have been no such complaints about Bob & Tom raising prostate cancer awareness by having Chick McGee undergo an on-air prostate exam every October. The promotion's title? Procktober-fest.

... play music I don't like, talk about things I don't care about, have a presentation and style I don't like, and occasionally say stuff in such a way that I'm offended by it. It doesn't matter that the station isn't aimed at me and I can easily avoid listening to it. Half of the so-called humor on those stations is about making men appear to be weak, incompetent, and oafish. This is destructive to men and to the traditional family structure. Think about what this does to our children. Boys will never grow up to well adjusted, responsible men if they are influenced by this kind of low brow humor. Girls will grow to think that men are good for nothing other than providing sperm and taking out the garbage.Arp2 wrote:Because they......???K-Rock wrote:I wish someone would start giving country and AC radio a hard way to go for a change...
I don't care if a lot of other people enjoy this type of radio station and humor. What people prefer in their entertainment is of no consequence. People simply can't be relied upon to make this sort of choice for themselves. People simply can't be relied upon to monitor what their children watch or listen to.
These are the PUBLIC airwaves we are taking about here. That means I get to decide for everybody else what is acceptable to put on those airwaves. I don't like jokes about men being obsessed with football or not knowing how to do the laundry well. The fact that I am personally offended by them means no one should be allowed to hear them. These jokes objectify men and degrades them wholly and completely. You can't even call them jokes. They are hate crimes. Hate crimes!
How do you like me now? Bitches.
***This post is not aimed at Arp. Except for the "bitches" part, but that is aimed at everyone else too.***
