Last I heard he was spending some time with a Belgian supermodel named "Fabrique Rationale". He won't say where he is, exactly, because of the paparazzi problem.

Northern Iraq! Isn't that one of the areas that Turkey wants to invade to blow up the Kurds and commit a type of genocide with US permission?

WWI aka "the Great War"

Mustafa Kemal, "Ataturk" started a secular revolution against the nominally Islamic, but mostly degenerate and corrupt Ottoman Empire (or what was left of it), after the end of WWI. The Ottomans had been allied with Austro-Hungary, and most of their territory was occupied by the French and British after the war.

The Armenians and other Christian groups in what is now Turkey were caught up in the conflict between the remnants of the Ottomans and the new nationalist forces under Ataturk. While the new Turkish republic was established as a strictly secular state, old Muslim-Christian hatreds resulted in most of the Greek population of Turkey leaving for Greece, while the Armenians --many displaced by the Soviet occupation of Armenia into Turkey, were slaughtered.

Before the war, Turkey was about 15~20% Christian, after the revolution, about 2%. Greek Christians lived in Turkey since the time of the Romans,
Ephesus (home of the Ephesians) is a town on the SW coast of Turkey, Paul (Saul) hailed from the Greek city of Tarsus, also in what is now Turkey.

so, if i read that correctly, it's a buyers market in the north, and a sellers market in the south???

No. The Turks are wanting to eliminate the PKK, a Kurdish separatist group that has been labeled as a terror organization by both Europe and he U.S. They are an extremely small, but violent organization. The real Kurdish army is called the Peshmerga, and they aren't happy about turkey wanting to enter their space without really good reason. Since they peshmerga and the Iraqi Army are now dealing with the PKK, they feel Turkey no longer has a need to roll in.

Adding to this is the fact that the PKK was a rather large thorn in the side of Saddam, so while the average folk don't agree with them, they do hold a special place in their hearts. It's sticky... but workable.
