African Lion in WV

From WSAZ:

If an African lion is roaming the mountains of southeastern West Virginia, Angus Peyton wants it captured, not killed.

Peyton is offering a $3,000 award for the safe and humane capture of the lion.

He also wants the animal to be placed in refuge.

The Charleston broker says he fears someone may try to shoot the lion.

Bow hunter Jim Shortridge swears he saw a male African lion weighing between 250 and 300 pounds at the foot of Cold Knob Mountain earlier this month.

Rainelle-based Tiger Mountain Refuge and Greenbrier County animal control officer Robert McClung have placed motion-sensitive video cameras in that area in hopes of getting an image of the lion.

In Wayne County we would just stake out a prey animal for the lion to eat.
Maybe an Adkins or a Napier. In Logan a Browning or Chafin will do.
I don't know about Greenbrier County.

We had stories of a large cat here, too.

The natives called it Erin.

If you include Raleigh and Summers, then that would be a Lilly or a Meadows. Closer to Rainelle you would need a Gwen.

if there really is a cat that large running around this state one would easily assume that it's gonna keep a decent sized territory, any reports of old people dissappearing from walmart parking lots?? if so start there, lions always go after the weaker ones first..
