new virus.?.?.?.?

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

new virus.?.?.?.?

Post by Zak Tyler »

i got an email from one of my engineers yesterday afternoon about a new email virus that will OWN YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!! kinda scared me so here's a copy of the email typo's n all...
Anyone-using Internet mail such as Yahoo, Hotmail,AOL and so on.
This information arrived today, Direct from both Microsoft and Norton.
Please send it to everybody you know who has access to the Internet.
You may receive an apparently harmless e-mail with a Power .Pointpresentation " Life is Beautiful"
If you receive it DO NOT OPEN THE FILE UNDER ANY
CIRCUMSTANCES, and delete it immediately.

If you open this file, a message will appear on your screen saying:
"It is too late now, your life is no longer beautiful."

Subsequently you will LOSE EVERYTHING IN YOUR PC, And the person who sent it to you will gain access to your name, e-mail and password.
This is a new virus which started to circulate on Saturday afternoon.
AOL has already confirmed the severity, and the anti virus software's are not capable of destroyin it.

The virus has been created by a hacker who calls himself "life owner".
PLEASE SEND A COPY OF THIS E-MAIL TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS,
And ask them to PASS IT ON IMMEDIATELY!

There IS a nasty virus generally referred to as the Storm worm (named for the original emails advertising views of a hurricane). This Register article is an example of recent coverage. This infection is not spread by opening an attachment. Instead, you have to follow a link to a site that will ask you to install an applet or a codec in order to login properly or view a video. DON'T DO IT. :!:
Aircheck? You'd make a great board op.
