I Had Too Much To Dream Last Night

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

I Had Too Much To Dream Last Night

Post by Scott Reppert »

Since we occasionally talk about "radio dreams" on here, I thought I would share last night's dream that I remember very vividly. Nothing happened yesterday to MAKE me dream this...no interaction with anything or anyone involved. Aside from a ton of NyQuil:

I had just got done managing the New York Mets in an afternoon game at Shea Stadium when Howard Stern asks me if I will join he and Don Imus for lunch. Howard INSISTS on picking the restaurant, and we end up in a nice little place where Howard says he has "ordered for me". We have a mixed vegetable salad (red, yellow, orange, and green peppers, onions, celery, cucumber, and a bit of lettuce) with a spicy pink grapefruit dressing. This is followed by a nice big blackened salmon steak, with Perrier to drink. Imus has blended peaches. The blender is right there in front of him, and he's peeling peaches and putting them in the blender.

Stern goes over to what amounts to a "grown up" Chuck E. Cheese's game room where there are old 45 picture sleeves on the wall and lots of older pinball machines and some Skeeball machines. I join him some games while Imus is still blending peaches. After another course of the same food for Stern and I, I head back down to West Virginia through Allentown, PA and come back home and go to bed.

Yep. That NyQuil will do the trick...

You know, this dream reminds me of the song (I hope I get the title correct on this) "This Is Ponderous."

Blame the NEA for the spread of this error. Seriously.

At one of their meetings something like a decade and a half ago, the teachers "decided" that students just would never get subjects and objects right and that they would, as a result, teach "I," "he," and "she" for all uses.

Yes, the NEA took it upon themselves to throw out the rules of the language and all the standards. It's made their jobs easier and the kids -- heck, the whole populace -- dumber....which, of course, is exactly what they want in everything.

As for my dream last night, I was directing a television show...a sitcom or something in front of a studio audience in some sort of theatre or theatre configuration. I was doing a fantastic job and just hoping that no one would notice that it wasn't actually my job. :)

I dreamed I was on Larry Niven's Ringworld riding a flycycle. While banging Ali Larter. Is that wrong?

I love casually repeating someone who has made that mistake, but saying it correctly. The give me a stupid look for half a second and then have an "Aha Moment" and never say a word. I have done this to my dept. VP at least three times and one of our corporate officers twice. They have not made the mistake again, esp. when a hayseed like me knows the difference.

ya know, come to think of it, i feel like a complete asshole ALL the time...

maybe i could at least use my complete asshole-ness for good and correct everyones grammar, instead of letting it go to waste.

thinking about it though, am i really the one you want correcting people's grammar???

Capitals would help.....they're not just de riguer.

....and it's the latter spelling of "Seuss;" of that, I am sure!

caps are over-rated. don't really use them much unless i'm in a weird mood, or actually decide to care. sometimes use them when writing to superiors, but only if they're "cap worthy". that 7/16th of an inch i'd have to move one of my pinkys is really just too taxing and waste of energy that could be better used on surfing porn or something like that.

would it make you feel better if i did use the occasional cap? :)

I wonder if the NEA has also changed the spelling of de rigueur?
