Good for him. Not that I would go out like that, but it's not hard to imagine why some do. What recourse do they have to getting dry screwed by management?

To be as angry as he must have been--- he really showed a lot of self-control in his rant. He could've lost it and let loose with F bombs, but just said his piece and left.
He knew better than to do that---- he DOES have a family to feed and needs to go someplace else, and realized it.

I mean the fact that he claims he'd just confirmed he was fired-----WITHOUT completely losing it, would take more self-control than I have, so that is a possibility.

That's what I thought, too. But, I am impressed. I kept waiting for him to really cut loose but he didn't. As far as on air rants, that was classy.

That was no stunt -- the guy really quit. The reason: Greaseman will be doing afternoon drive on Rock 105 in Jacksonville beginning this Wednesday.

There was a stunt connected with this story - in DC. Last Wednesday, a video was posted to YouTube, followed by a announcement at 5PM on WWDC (DC101), that stated that Greaseman had died. Details were hashed out in the DCRTV mailbag.

If I recall, he was on in Jacksonville before DC101 signed him to replace Stern back in the 80's.

Rock 105 in Jacksonville (WFYV-FM) is owned by Cox, so I don't think this is a CC syndication thing being set up as much as it is WFYV-FM bringing a personality who has had a couple of runs in Jacksonville back to bolster the station's afternoon drive numbers.
