COLUMBUS - A Dairy Mart on the city's west side was damaged Thursday night when the driver of a pickup crashed into the building. The convenience store on West Broad Street was open when a Ford F-150 pickup drove into it.
"All of a sudden a white truck was pulling in and it didn't even stop," said Scott Hinkle, who was inside the store. "The only thing that stopped him was all that stuff (in the store)."
Witnesses said the intoxicated driver asked for a lighter and stated his intention to blame the collision on someone else. After being handed a lighter, he backed the damaged truck out of the store and drove away. No injuries were reported.
