If it's about broadcasting, radio, TV, satellite, cable, this is where to talk about it.

No sir, you guys are the drama queens. I simply asked to be deleted and removed. And I see I still haven't been. Pretty sad this is all you have to look forward to is slamming someone you don't even know. I've asked and asked. Please delete me from these boards.

Oh, and this drama queen kicks ass in the numbers so I'm cool with that.
First of all, thanks Hoosier! :D

Alrighty then, Chet. If you don't like the board...don't post or read it.

It's simple! Move on. Take your ball and go home!

Well, good luck with that. This has to be one of the best radio-related boards you will ever come across, and it's frequented by all kinds of people from all kinds of places for all kinds of reasons...you really have no way of knowing who's reading you. So, you know, good luck with that.

One of the main reasons it's so strong is the sense of community that has been created, a strength that might be considered a weakness by new folks. For one thing, you might not see a whole bunch of "broadcasting" actually being discussed because many people already know each other, each other's business, and each other's stations...there's not necessarily a whole lot to say that many don't already know, and we've seen "big" events go completely undiscussed. For another thing, the sense of community and familiarity tends to lead to conversations that cover broader areas and even float in and out and around them.

That, by the way, like HD said, is one of the reasons why Dave's tentative strip club remote worked and your "come make it look like I'm drawing a crowd" post didn't....Dave's was a radio-related event, sure, like yours, but was amusing on several levels, provided fodder and jumping-off points for others to play with, and even presented the possibility of a socializing opportunity. You're very unlikely, though, to come here, post "come network with me at my remote when I'm supposed to be doing my job but am actually bored out of my mind," and see it responded to favorably, and it has nothing to do with any level of "professionalism" or "unprofessionalism"....whatever those things mean anymore.

So new folks come here and might see not as much broadcasting being discussed as they might have expected and see what looks like a private club. Well, they -- you included -- shouldn't....at least, I / we hope you wouldn't.

Just do a little learning first....a little looking around and seeing who's here, what they're like, and what's going on...a little sticking your toe in and checking the tempreature and nature of the water before jumping in cannonball-style off the high dive in the midst of a synchronized swimming class. God help us, you, your stations, and our industry if this is how you normally enter a room out in the real world!
I promise you that. I've got many high connections of my own.
As far as I know, you have one "high" connection, and whether he thinks the same of your relationship that you do is another question. But you could have more...I don't know and will be the first to admit it. The point of this is that you never know who might be reading this and be evaluating your performance and claims.
I don't appreachate that all I was trying to do was contribute to this site.

Well, we don't "appreachate," either! Or maybe we do...I dunno....I have no idea what that whole statement means.

Now, you're thinking I'm insulting you, right? That's slightly true, sure, but what I'm really doing is helping you, the newbie, learn that one aspect of me is that I'm the grammar cop and stickler for near-perfection in communication....stay awhile, and you'll also find people who know the lay of the land of your market like you could only hope and local references and phrasings that would make you sooo much more relatable along with people with massive amounts of historical knowledge, engineers and computer folks who definitely know their stuff, a guy who knows how to swear better than anyone, people who'd all but come to blows over their favorite hot dogs, multiple people who've served our country and have our serious and sincere appreciation, tv folks who could get you on the screen but now think you're a jerk, talents who've been in the largest markets, talents who are in the largest markets, talents who could've been in the largest markets but chose the lifestyle they love, someone who's done the satellite thing with a name you'd definitely recognize, people running internet streams, people building media websites, people who've done many of the bigger radio deals you've heard about, and even the occasional hot anchor babe who could and should have made at least a 30 market jump a year or two ago (and who probably realizes that, coming from me, "hot anchor babe" is just message-board text used for entertainment purposes only to represent a very good talent...c'mon, girl, get it done!).

Nick, I just gave you a couple of months of hints to play with....hang around, be a decent guy, and see if you can connect those descriptions with who's here and what's going on. See, the problem is you made your arrival here all about you...you should have made it about this community and may (or may not) still have that chance.
And some Part Timer by the name of Lester offended me....Maybe if some of you held yourselves to a higher standard, you wouldn't still be Part time.

You know, I, too, may have made "parttimer" insults once or twice over the years, but I've come to figure out that parttimers tend to still come in with smiles on their faces, have fun doing this radio thing, and generally have no ulcers, premature heart attacks, early deaths, bankruptcies, crying spouses, messed-up kids, or regrets over a misspent life because of radio.

I mean....dude, you're on the path.....you're like 25 and look 58......I'm just sayin'...... :P

(See, if you'd stay here awhile, you'd recognize that line has to be a joke or barb because that guy never says "dude"....see? Time...familiarity....they're your friends!)
I am not like you guys on here. I don't enjoy degrading and down grading someone to make my dick feel bigger.
I dunno....anytime I see "I'm not like you guys here," it usually is a case of someone degrading and downgrading someone to make his...whatever...feel bigger!
C. My Attorney that you suggest the reason I have is because I am in trouble with the law frequently.
Did somebody do that and I missed it?
Is my good friends wife and she is a partner at Jackson and Kelly. So yes, I have an Attorney and no it's not because of my criminal record. I will not stand by and let my good name be slandered or degraded. If that is the intention of the Moderators and Admins of this site. I will take the appropriate action to make sure that doesn't continue to happen.

Well, before you have her read the site, you might want to think twice....the ridiculousness of what you're "charging" here has become so obvious that she is almost guaranteed to say, "honey, I've been thinking about your friend, Nick....I'm thinking you'd be a whole lot better off not hanging around with him 'cause I think he's a little nuts." Seriously....you're not making sense. You've talked more about you here than anybody ever has...I suppose we could search it, but I'm not sure your name ever came up until your "Look at me! Talk to me!" arrival a week or two ago.
D. I am a professional. I know this trade very very well....
Gosh, I know I've got a number of years and experience on you and wouldn't even think of making that claim....especially now that things are running away from us at Jamaican-in-the-Olympics speed.

I'll be the first to admit that most of what I've "known" at one point has turned out to be "wrong" sooner or later and that I don't know crap about crap...I just make some halfway-intelligent educated guesses every now and then and hope my and others' work can make 'em turn out okay.
...that's why I asked to be removed....I don't wish to partake or be a subject of any conversations on this site.
I don't think anybody's flat out chasing you away...just the persona you've presented so far. If that's the real "you," then maybe you should get your wish, and, of course, it's within your power to stop posting anytime you like.

If I were you, though, I'd keep my account and just stop posting. This might have changed with the board upgrade, but, if it's like it used to be and the account truly goes away, the screen name could be chosen again, and somebody could really make your name mud.

Slander is spoken, libel is written, and neither would be applicable here. In that this guy is a huge celebrity "malice" would have to be proven, having your little feelings or your huge ego hurt is not malice.
I am sure J&K's advice would be "Man up, you little liberal loving Hillary suck up twit and get off the Board"

You might want to clarify when you go talk to that high-powered attorney of yours so you don't appear to be as stupid as you do here.

Eloquent mastery of the English language in defense of your blind and mindless following of the Democratic CHANGE and defense of your unknown position.
Trust no member of this Board will come beat you up at your little disco parties, and I sense a tinge of desire from you in the thought of a gang rape.
Take the sound advice you have been given on the Board and strap on a pair, or just move on as you keep promising.

Since being professional doesn't work around here. I guess gloves are off.

And your all right. There is no reason to continue this past today. Mainly because nobody cares and secondly I could give a fuck less what a few of you think of me. So i'll sign off with this. Fuck you.

To any of you that wish to talk to me in person and talk shit then, I am not hard to find. (513)285-2290 if you're man enough to say it to me.

And to the guy who made a comment about me being a liberal. Fuck you, you communist Republican fascist. It's dumbasses like you that have almost ruined this country.

Now, to all of you that said anything against me or my abilities. Fuck off and fuck you. I am DJing at Impulse night club every Saturday night. If anyone would like to come down and say a few of these things to my face. I think I could step away from a min to handle you. I am usually off by 4pm and love to travel to new places to handle my business.

It's ppl like this that are destroying radio. This industry is getting smaller and smaller everyday. And I came here to be apart of the community. I never once had this in mind when I came here. And now I realize why certain ppl come to this site.

I'm done checking this site becuase you're never going to delete my account. That's the only reason I've checked here today. I don't care anymore. My career will be just fine. And to those who might read this site that are "high ups". I think they're smart enough to read that I was just a guy trying to contribute to the community and got gang raped.

Nick,

I tried to help you.

Honestly.

You didn't listen.

All someone would have to do is forward your last post to your boss at Electric 102.

At many stations, it could be a damn good reason to fire you on the spot.

That post and the threats contained within could follow you to your next couple of employee interviews.

It lets a prospective employer "see" what kind of person they might be considering for that high profile radio gig.

At this point, I don't care anymore.

Chill out. Or just go away.

I'm done.

Honestly, as a washed-up, part-timer I personally was insulted by the liberal, disco-spinning walking ego that is NS. From what I understand from the station cluster where I used to work (full-time, by the way) and carried higher numbers than some could add, young Nick is just as fun-loving and friendly in the studio.
Its an embarrassment to think that this young whippersnapper is sitting in the same chair that Kidd Conley used to fart in and Hollywood did unspeakable things in as well. Maybe Nick needs a night out with Al Woody to get the perspective of what a radio lifestyle has to offer.

He didn't question who you know.

But right here, he's giving you a really good idea of some of the people on here who post regularly....

Again... those are the posters. Let's talk "lurkers"... those that read but don't post: I also know of at least 4 radio group owners... two company presidents... and an untold number of PD's, MD's and consultants that breeze through here on a regular basis... and every time you post, this post goes right back to the top for them to see. And to correct HD's warning... no one has to forward this to Bristol's management, they visit too. I'm certain it's been seen already.

And you've brought people together better than Kissinger. You've gotten the most "fascist Republican" the board has, and the most "liberal Democrat" both throwing their hands up after trying to help bring you into the fold.

Congratulations, Nick. We were more than willing to accept you as a member, but none of us are going to accept you as the rock star you want to be.

Do you have any idea that you just gave out your cell number in a place where Google, your listeners, and your competition can and will get it??
...you communist Republican fascist.
Both communism and fascism require socialism and a dependent population for their starting points, two things that are anathema to freedom- and liberty-loving, all-equal-under-the-law, independent and interdependent, free-market conservatives. Your world is backwards.
Now, to all of you that said anything against me or my abilities....

Who was that? Nobody's talked about you but you!

Do you realize you just told your current employer and future employers you have no problem walking away from your work while on the clock to "handle" personal issues in a physical manner?
I am usually off by 4pm and love to travel to new places to handle my business.

Do you realize you just told your current employer and future employers you like to get violent and will actually travel distances to carry out your vengeance?
It's ppl like this that are destroying radio.

Actually, I've always thought that it's people like you're appearing to be here -- much ego and attitude, little character and maturity -- that have been destroying radio. There's plenty of room for show biz, talent, and enthusiasm, but there's no room for arrogance and irrationality.

The number one thing I could say or hear about someone is, "He's an absolute pleasure to work with and is always learning and growing. He does everything asked of him and more, he's even better off the air than he is on, he's extremely approachable and empathetic and engaging in public and in the hallways, and, with him, it's not an act." It's those kinds of people* radio needs to slow or stop its destruction, not more fly-off-the-handle, temperamental, in-it-only-for-themselves, overly-ambitious self-promoters....

*....not that I'm finding it easy to find -- or be -- a person like that these days, but, ya know..... :(
...I came here to be apart of the community.

Congratulations, you succeeded! There's no doubt you're apart from it! It's really too bad, though, that you didn't come to be a part of this community...just like anybody else, you'd have had all the opportunity in the world.
I don't care anymore. My career will be just fine.
The first thing I do when I'm curious about someone is go to Google, put his or her name in quotes, add his or her current geographical location, and add the word "radio." What do you think is going to come up if someone were to do that in a few days? The very best thing you could do at this point is apologize to the group, admit you misunderstood people's attempts to guide you in, and develop a body of posts here that look "normal."
And to those who might read this site that are "high ups". I think they're smart enough to read that I was just a guy trying to contribute to the community and got gang raped.

First, I think no one is going to equate self-promotion upon entry and "trying to contribute." Second, I think people, if they find this thread, are going to be dumbstruck when they see people constructively offer a newcomer both negative and positive feedback upon entering the message board community and your subsequent reaction to it. Third, I think people reading this are going to think, "what in the world is going on in this guy's brain that he equates peer-based feedback, admonishment, and correction with gang rape??"

This has gotten just too weird.....is this for real???
