I sent my Sony CFD-S01 CD/tape recorder/radio with my brother on his trip to Oxford, MS this past Thursday afternoon to get him to record a couple of airchecks from there for me. That turned out fine.
Unfortunately, on the way back, the antenna ended up getting damaged to the point where a large portion of the antenna broke off. Not fun times.
I looked online and found that RadioShack carries replacement telescoping antennas, with a 28" variety running $4.99. I'd think that this would be the best course of action, unless there is some super telescoping antenna out there that I don't know about.

Re: replacement telescoping antenna
Thanks for the MCM heads-up. I ended up finding the replacement antennas I needed on eBay. They offered four 31" replacement antennas for $1 (total), plus $5.80 shipping. The connection looks spot-on like the one on my broken antenna, so (barring a surprise) it should work. The antennas should be here within a week.
