The latest GALLUP poll asking Americans how they get their news showed declines for radio as an everyday news source. For DECEMBER 4-7, 2008, compared to DECEMBER 11-14, 2006, the percentage of people saying they get their news from radio talk shows every day declined from 20% to 18%. NATIONAL PUBLIC RADIO also declined from 19% to 18% but remained relatively steady, staying on par with its 1995 percentage.
Cable news networks (34% to 40%), the Internet (22% to 31%), morning national TV news and interview programs (28% to 29%) and national newspapers (7% to 9%) showed increases, and public TV news was flat at 28%.
