RUDY TO RADIO?

If it's about broadcasting, radio, TV, satellite, cable, this is where to talk about it.

I'm having trouble buying into this one working.

I like Rudy but I don't believe he would be a very strong radio personality. Who knows...

The latest I've heard (in Tom Taylor's Friday radio-info e-mail column) is that Rudy Giuliani won't be doing radio.

I heard Rudy speak in person at a "Get Motivated" event in Nashville in October, and despite my disdain for his authoritarian policies on certain matters, he did a good job with it. At the same time, giving a speech and doing a daily radio show are two different beasts. Between the time commitment and dealing with callers looking to bust his balls who get past the screeners and remaining compelling with fresh material, my guess is that there are too many potential pitfalls in radio to make it worth his while.

The winner (if you can use that) for the Westwood One O'Reilly slot.............Fred Thompson!

Let the conversation begin.

I'd much rather have Fred than Rudy, but "neither" is my real choice. I don't have a real choice...competing with Rush seems a hopeless task.

Rudy used to do his own radio show while mayor, so I'm not surprised he'd be interested.
