This year, because of the calendar, it was not considered taboo to play New Years music, jingles, and liners through January 4th.

I don't know about New Year's music, but isn't it almost time for AC stations to switch to all Christmas music? Maybe if the second place Christmas station gets it on the air first, they can take over the position.
