Sześć osób, w tym czterech pilotów aeroklubu polskiego z Chicago zginęło w katastrofie samolotu w pobliżu miejscowości Hunting w Zachodniej Virginii.

Do wypadku doszło w piątek po południu. Ze wstępnych ustaleń Narodowej Komisji Bezpieczeństwa Transportu wynika, że przyczyną katastrofy mógł być brak benzyny – na krótko przed wypadkiem w wieży kontrolnej na najbliższym lotnisku odebrano meldunek od pilota, który wzywał pomocy i mówił o niskim poziomie paliwa w zbiorniku.

Według świadków samolot spadając zerwał linię wysokiego napięcia.
