WLVW Moundsville off the air?
wlvw formerly WRKP in Moundsville, WV has been off the air for the last three days and no surprise so has their translator in Weirton, WV. Seems to have been off the air since the ice storm came though on Tuesday night. K-Love makes no reference to an outage on their station list.

No local staffing = nobody home to fix it. Wonder if the mothership in Rocklin even knows it's off?

The sad, sad state of radio today.

Translators are a Pox on the FM radio dial.

I just checked with NOC and they are still off and unable to get it turned on. Looks like I will be heading that way tomorrow.

Yeah, I got an email back from them saying that it was "weather related" and engineering would be there soon to fix the problem.contracteng wrote:I just checked with NOC and they are still off and unable to get it turned on. Looks like I will be heading that way tomorrow.

EMF is fairly good about having contract engineers in their transmitting areas to fix things, they also have the ability to remotely attempt to do some things like power ups etc. I would say despite not being 'live and local' they are one of the more responsible sat-a-lator networks when it comes to making sure their licenses are properly cared for.

The transmitter there is a Z2CD. Don't know if that was put in by EMF or was already there when they bought the station. EMF installs their own rack of equipment such as processor, remote control etc.
