Google bailing on radio by end of May.

If it's about broadcasting, radio, TV, satellite, cable, this is where to talk about it.

Wow...wonder if we get to keep the computer???
America is at that awkward stage.
It is too late to work within the system,
but too early to shoot the bastards.

I'm disappointed that the Google radio ad system didn't last. I used it in 2007 to do promotion for a band and it was remarkably effective and, particularly for someone like me who knows how to recognize call letters and figure out what stations were the best buys, it was outstanding. Q101 in Chicago had incredibly low overnight rates, as I recall.

There were some problems with it, like for example a Cookeville CHR that was listed as "Nashville". But, as long as you knew how to work the system, you could find good deals.

I'm glad it will be around through May -- I might have to give it one more spin to promote Draft King ahead of the late April NFL Draft.
