Why wasnt this brawl on the news?
There was a huge fight at, and in front of the Impulse Lounge in Charleston this weekend. Did anyone see this in the news?

News normally focuses on the novel, the unusual, and things of great interest to the reader/viewer/listener.
Perhaps this incident fails on each count...

Or.... maybe the news isn't up at that hour of the morning to record such events. There was a time when there were reporters up around the clock to cover just about anything. (at least camera people). Now, most everyone is cozy in their bed, but on call for that "big" story that's big enough to be called out on. After all, if you're in bed... before you get dressed the brawls over.. and so are lot's of other things that might otherwise be covered.

eh, hoodrats brawling on their own time is just normal, if they were "supervised" like at the football game, which is what I think you're referring to, thats another story.....

Instances like these are when I think cops should have the right to come in and just open fire.

Re: Why wasnt this brawl on the news?
The reason it should have been on the news is because the Bar that was there before, was literally run out of town by the city due to the number of shootings, stabbings and fights. ( and that's not even counting the "Girls Gone Wild" episode ) The city was not going to allow another Bar in there, but the mayor was persuaded to allow one more business... a high clientele business to be established in that exact spot. Promises were made that no one except the well dressed-well mannered would be allowed to enter. That fell apart in little time. Since then, there has been a couple more shootings stabbings etc.
THAT'S why it should have made the news.

Re: Why wasnt this brawl on the news?
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A YouTube video shows a drunken brawl that brought traffic to a halt outside of the Impulse nightclub early on the morning of April 24.
More than 30 people can be seen fighting or looking on in the grainy video. The fight stops traffic as men wrestle in the road. One man flashes a gang sign at the camera.
Impulse was already closed and the staff was cleaning up inside when it occurred, said Janet Amores, who owns the nightclub.
"The fight broke out outside, with people who weren't even allowed in my club," she said. "We don't let in the bad elements, the thugs, the gangsters. We do not let them in."
Amores said the bar has a strict dress code: Business-casual attire, no baggy clothing, sports jerseys or hats.
But the people they turn away still often hang around outside the club, she said.
The fight started at a nearby parking lot and spilled onto the street, Amores said. She said she planned to meet with police about it.
Amores said the fight started from patrons at other bars walking down the street. She says her staff were the ones to call police.
"The people in the YouTube video aren't even allowed in the club," she said.
Charleston Police Chief Brent Webster said police response to the bar "has started to become a habit.
"At least in the month of April," he said.
Since January 2010, eight police reports have been filed from incidents in or outside of Impulse, he said. Four of those have happened in April.
When police have to respond to a large number of incidents at any bar, it takes away from police protection in the rest of the city, he said.
"If we're down there responding to that mess, it can delay our response to other places," he said.
Since January 2010, there have been 71 calls to police regarding Impulse, which is open three days a week, according to Kanawha County Metro 911 records. It averages out to a little more than four calls a month.
"We start getting alarmed when we have to respond to a lot of calls like that [the YouTube fight]," Webster said. "It's a problem if that starts to become a habit."
