South Park’s’ Cheesy Poofs coming to Walmart

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

South Park’s’ Cheesy Poofs coming to Walmart

Post by CoolBreeze »

Finally, you can eat Cheesy Poofs just like Eric Cartman.

The fictional Cheeto-like snack food is coming to a Walmart near you in honor of “South Park’s” 15th year on Comedy Central. The bag features the same trademark rocket ship seen on the animated show.

The novelty item will be manufactured and distributed by Frito-Lay, according to Reuters. They’ll be available for a limited time this fall for $2.99 per 2 3/8-ounce bag. Pricey, but likely worth it for South Park fans.

I'm sort of surprised that no one responded to this.

I think Frito-Lay is taking a big chance on identifying with the Eric Cartman character, as Eric portrays everything bad in a human being:

1... He's a huge racist against Jews.

2... He's a self centered egotistical little twit that thinks the world revolves around him.

3... He's a foul mouth little boy who has a crack whore for a mother.

4... He's obese, and obviously the butt of many jokes. (snack food people usually avoid these people)

5... He's a money grubbing little boy who is always trying to scam people out of theirs.

The list goes on....

So, when did major food companies (or any company) decide to use such a vile character as a symbol of their product? Yes... "Cheesy Poofs" are not their normal product, but they WILL have the Frito-Lay name on them.

And yes... Eric Cartman is funny as hell and the main character on the show. But should "older people" ever discover South Park, I'll bet they'd raise hell to know that Frito-Lay was condoning Eric and the entire show in general.

Someone at Frito-Lay had a lot of guts to aline themselves on a PERSONAL basis with South Park.

That's all I'm sayin....

Which is why they will, sadly, sell out almost immediately...

Mr Hanky's fudge bars ?

And then there could be the talking towel's line of crack pipes. (He's already had a towel)

Or may be Mr. hand's....never mind. :)
