I'm watching the news on the TODAY show this morning and I see they have weatherman Al Roker tied to a bench on some pier in Virginia or NJ. No seriously, there's a white rope tied to the bench and Al.
He's doing his best to convince us that all hell's breaking loose and that he might just blow away any second... when out of nowhere two people stroll right past him. Al is looking very sheepish and made some comment like "well, looks like not everyone is worried about the storm" and has this "you caught me" look on his face.

Re: Hurricane coverage?
Al has a slightly higher wind profile, which necessitated the ropes. He's aerodynamically challenged.

He wasn't alone. A lot of news crews were "busted" do similar sensationalism.

Re: Hurricane coverage?
Even considering the 7.8 inches of rain that fell on "the encampment" Saturday night, I have seen at least 4 storms that were as destructive as this in my last 7 years in Philly.lastone wrote:There was a hurricane ???
