News and Public Affairs Reporter/Producer

Morgantown, West Virginia

West Virginia Public Broadcasting seeks a full-time reporter for our Morgantown bureau.



Duties and Qualifications: The successful candidate must have excellent reporting, interviewing, writing and electronic newsgathering skills to produce substantive radio/television stories for a statewide and regional audience. This person must be able to maintain high journalistic standards of fairness under deadline pressure. Above all, this reporter must work collaboratively with others in a multi-media newsroom. Two years reporting experience required. Previous experience with posting to the web and using social media is highly desirable. Bachelor’s degree or an appropriate combination of education and experience.

Radio Announcer/Producer

Charleston, West Virginia

West Virginia Public Broadcasting has an opening for a Radio Announcer/Producer in Charleston.



Duties and Qualifications: Duties include performing a daily on-air shift during midday classical music, serving as substitute host of Classical Music with Jim Lange, assisting with operations, monitoring automation system(s), anchoring newscasts as needed, producing radio reports/documentaries on the arts as needed, and producing pledge drive spots. Knowledge of classical music is required. This position requires some irregular work hours, including work during fund drives. Qualifications: At least 2 years experience in broadcasting, 4-year college degree in communications or related field or an appropriate combination of education and experience.

Education Outreach Assistant

Morgantown, West Virginia

West Virginia Public Broadcasting has an opening for an Education Outreach Assistant in Morgantown.



Duties and Qualifications: Successful candidate must represent the professionalism and integrity of this company to volunteers, clients, vendors and prospective donors. Must be able to work responsibly in a supportive role, with little supervision, and as a part of a team. Familiarity with non-profit organizations, education agencies, and/or educational broadcasting a plus. Other duties include typing, filing, writing correspondence and maintaining records on multiple ongoing projects. Travel, evening and weekend work will be required. Qualifications: Four-year college degree or an appropriate combination of education and experience in communications, journalism or related fields.
