WV Broadcasters HOF Class 12 Announced
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) -- West Virginia's first full-time female television news anchor is among 12 people named to the West Virginia Broadcasting Hall of Fame.
Debra Thomas was a reporter and anchor for WSAZ-TV. She later worked at KMGH-TV in Denver before retiring.
The other inductees are Willis Cook, Jo Corey, Mark Davis, Steve Mazure, J.B. Miller, George Parnicza, Jim Reader, Garry Ritchie, Loray Robinson, Vernon Stanfill and Rich Wachtel.
An induction ceremony will be held Oct. 27 at The Museum of Radio and Technology in Huntington. The event is invitation-only.
Hall of fame committee chairman Tom Resler says the inductees have created a diversity of programming at radio and TV stations across the state

Way to go JB Miller, congrats. Congrats to all the rest as well.
We need to start a West Virginia Broadcasting Hall of Infamy. I might be able to get into that.

"Mark Davis," (forget his given name) news director of WTRF in its glory days...Steve Mazure, also late of WTRF, who still does work for Wheeling Hospital with cut-ins during "The Doctors."

Until Bill Shahan is inducted, this HOF is meaningless.
Or until the Hall of Infamy is opened and I get in with Nunley.

I spoke with Mr. Resler a few months back, and suggested Gary "Music" Miller and Paul Rose be considered. I'm saddened that neither is in this class. They are both huge figures in WV's broadcasting history, and clearly deserve the recognition. (and speaking of huge figures, congratulations to JB!)

yeah I think you get a hat! Nice to see JB Miller join his brother Bob in the HOF. Bob and I worked together at WVAM
in Altoona, and I like to remind Bob of that every time I communicate with him since he is trying to forget that experience.
It was good time rock and roll! The station put us up at the Penn Alto Hotel...neither of us stayed in Altoona long enough to rent an apartment...we were so outta there! I did mornings, Bob did Afternoons...and we were both homesick.
Congrats, JB...and all the other inductees...wonderful to see you recognized.
