Marc Christi - WOBG

Post by JKF18 »

Sad to report the passing of former WOBG AM/FM Clarksburg personality Marc Christi, last week. I always found him to be very professional as well as quite an entertainer on the air. WOBG sounded great back in the early-mid 90s with Dr Dan, Don Niles, etc. Unfortunately, just like every other station in Clarksburg and NCWV, automation and/or a canned satellite format took over.

I have a bit of a policy against outing board members, but to those who have played along over the years, Marc Christi was known around these parts as "Jag". His last post was in December 2012. He had nearly 1000 posts, and as of today he's responsible for almost 2% of our posts.

All statistics aside, he was kind of an awesome dude, as much as you can know someone "virtually". His presence is already missed, and his contributions can never be replaced.

I am sorry to hear of his passing. The few times I was anywhere near the Clarksburg area, WOBG would always be put on.

I'm very sad to hear about this, and wish I would have logged in earlier to find out about it in time for any funeral arrangements. Mark would call or e-mail every once in a while to ask about my family and just shoot the non-radio ish. He was probably my most loyal and supportive mentor during my time on the air.
