Sinclair buys WTOV and WJAC.

If it's about broadcasting, radio, TV, satellite, cable, this is where to talk about it.

Here's hoping that Sinclair takes good care of their new employees at WTOV9. It's an excellent TV station, because they were willing to outspend and outhustle the competition (based on the other horse in the two-market race, 'competition' may be too strong a term). As a result, they have been the 800 lb. gorilla for at least two decades now, even though their primary affiliation is with NBC, and they have only one subchannel with an even-lower rated network.

Please keep the bean counters FAR away. With all the money WTOV spent years ago developing their digital facility, hopefully thoughts of relocating the station closer to Pittsburgh will not resurface.

I know people on this forum will hate me saying this, but I do hope this doesn't mean we'll have WTOV suddenly becoming what Sinclair tried to do with News Central back in the day. I've always thought that WTOV was good for reporting news in a fair way, but the controversies that Sinclair got into with how they tried to be the poor man's Fox News (I remember that thing they were forcing their stations to run in 2004 about John Kerry) makes me worry that they are going to try to tamper with how WTOV reports news. I don't mind opinions (regardless of side) as long as they are labeled as such and healthy debate becomes allowed by them if disagreements surface, but keep WTOV WTOV, Sinclair!

Cox finally asked themselves," what the hell are we doing in Steubenville, Oh"? (and Johnstown, Pa)

BTW: The two football heroes from Steubenville were found guilty of rape today.
Now have scholarships to Lucasville State.
