Spring Opening Likely for New Putnam County Wal-Mart

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

And somewhere out there, Mark is still bitching about it.

in my 36 years on this earth i've learned that there are some people we share our air with that just aren't happy unless they're bitchin' about something. it must give them a sense of "place" on this earth. above example... i'm pretty sure i'd be happier than hell if wal-mart was to set up in my backyard. first of all, how convienient would it be to just customize your own wal-mart cart and just walk to the store every time you needed something. second, in 2-3 years if i get sick of the traffic and convienience, i sell out to sams club or chic-fil-a or whoever... BECAUSE the "commercial value" of my place of dirt on this earth just increased x10 because of wal-mart...

then i take my x10 $$$ and try and find wal-marts next target... keep doing this for 20 years and you'll pay cash for a freakin' teays valley mansion.
I'm not an idiot, but I play one on the radio.

Next Mark will complain about the tremendous traffic at the "un-needed" Wal*Mart. After a while the crusading journalist will be just another local fruitcake. Wayne Wal*Mart does not sell beer. Can you believe that?

I did not even think about that until now! I guess I have lived in a dry area of Kentucky for so many years that I think it is more shocking to see beer being sold in Wal-Mart than not being sold in Wal-Mart.

Pennsylvania is nearly as strange when it comes to liquor laws.

I understand that the grand opening will be a real blast.
Aircheck? You'd make a great board op.

Wal-Mart in my backyard? I'd be checkin' the Hot Wheels aisle every morning on the way to work, every evening on the way home, and every time I saw the delivery truck pull in the entrance!

Speaking of which, Hot Wheels collectors that dabble in internet hackery have the ability to find out which Wal-Mart delivery trucks have how many cases of Hot Wheels on them, what the cases are (all Hot Wheels cases have casecodes), and when they are to be delivered to what Wal-Mart.

Me? I just show up 4-5 times a week to see what's in...

I have a particular speaker system in mind:

Image

Mounted on the far end of the parking lot closest to (and pointed at) the Hallburn mansion.

'I need a CSM to the Service Desk, a CSM to the Service desk.' ... 'Mister Stevens, pickup on Line 2, Mister Stevens, Line 2' ... 'We need a member of management to the loading dock for check-in' ... and on and on ...

As an added benefit, Hallburn would be the first to know about a Tornado Warning.

How about a real radio remote in which Mark wins a prize and has to come to Wal*Mart to collect it? Some sales weasel is bound to do a remote there.
Hell, I'll buy the prize. A WVRTV message board Tee-shirt or something.
