Things finally settle back into their natural place.

Two thoughts: 1. I am not kissing Jay's ass here or anything but if WAMX doesn't do something very soon, like kick the rednecks to the curb, WKLC will overtake them (possibly as soon as the next book).

2. WMGAs novelty wore off. Now it shall begin its demise like every other lite AC station in the Huntington/Ashland metro. Advice: Hot AC.

A format like Movin would be nice for MGA. I would probably lean more towards the version in LA than the one that is canned only for the fact that they play more currents and less '80s.

And if we were to believe the rhetoric of 5 years ago, Miller in the Morning was the reason for KEE-FM's ratings. This just proves what I thought all along.

It is a shame to see WBKS shrivel up like it has, but with KEE-FM become more Hot AC/Top 40 and less AC, there is not much interest in rythmic Top 40.

What interests me more about WMGA are the P25-54 and W25-54 numbers. If it's still in the top five there (as it still is in the 12+ numbers, mind you), I'd think that making any drastic changes to it would be a mistake.

Thanks for the info, Cameron. Interesting that WDGG beat WTCR P25-54.

As for WMGA finishing #4 in both P25-54 and W25-54, that sounds like success to me, particularly for a station that wasn't even on the air this time two years ago. And also remember that the station is a Class A 4kw from a relatively low tower at 436'.

Perhaps I'm just out of touch with what the market demands, but I don't see how one can expect a signal like that to crack the top three (KEE and the two country blowtorches) with a niche format. If it can pull top four with AC, then why not stick with it? Yes, the station is down 12+ year to year, but my take is that the station is doing just fine.

Trust me...

CONNOISSEUR has a great product on their hands. The station was designed by a extensive research project done by Coleman Insights. The company costs a pretty penny to do this kind of research.

WRYV is helping hold the rock stations in place. They may use this as leverage down the road. Or who knows...maybe BOB-FM.

Connoisseur is going to buy some more stations here soon...it will be interesting to see what they buy!

It is my understanding that if they buy any AM stations, they have no intention of keeping any rotten talk show hosts with controversial viewpoints not acceptable to the majority of their potential listening audiences....

WAMX remains the Tri-Stateâ€™s number one Rock station and WVHU is the Tri-Stateâ€™s top place to turn for news and talk.

One would like to hope that lazy journos would at least put some disclaimer on something that's a reprint of a press release, or, better still, just leave that crap off.

HUNTINGTON â€” "Talkers Magazine" recently released its list of top 250 Talk Radio hosts according to industry leaders. News Talk 800 WVHU (AM 800) boasts seven of the hosts listed in what is known as the "Heavy Hundred."

Number one on the list is Rush Limbaugh, heard from noon to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday on WVHU, followed by Sean Hannity at number two, who is heard 3-6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Fifth on the list is Glenn Beck, who is heard on WVHU from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday.

Other talk hosts heard on WVHU that are listed in the "Heavy Hundred" include Jerry Doyle (No. 24, heard from 11 p.m. Saturday to 1 a.m. Sunday), George Noory (No. 26, heard 1-5 a.m. Monday-Friday), Bill Cunningham (No. 69, heard from 11 p.m. Sunday to 1 a.m. Monday), and Mike McConnell (No. 84, heard from noon to 3 p.m. Saturdays).
