Now another Senator calls for return of Fairness Doctrine

I am really starting to think the industry has a real fight on it's hands. I don't see how some people can think another Fairness Doctrine is not a real possiblity.

The pansies in Congress will try to revive it, but it's unlikely they will be successful.

Not only will they start a fight with the NAB and free speech supporters everywhere, but they will open up a Constitutional argument that would ultimately be settled by the Supreme Court against them.

Right now, it's only a veiled attempt to intimidate talk radio and opinionated broadcasters.

It was amusing to me at the gym last night to see Fox News Channel (which someone had put on one of the TVs) referring to the Fairness Doctrine as the "Media Control Doctrine" (if I recall correctly).

I think what is weird about this, is that if this DOES go through, the conservative talkers will be subsidizing the liberal talkers to keep them on the air.
Rush's show will actually have to use revenues to pay for the liberal talk-show to follow him.

I cannot see how this could possibly work............or at least work in a way that keeps it going long-term.
