Since We've Been Talking WFGM "Stereo 98"/"Great 98" On Here

Seeing as how Clay brought up "The Great 98" and WFGM in response to another recent post of mine on here. here is something I know a few of you have heard over the years, but many of you probably haven't. I have had at least 50 requests for CD copies of this and the other WTCS/WFGM/WMQC stuff I have...but this is certainly one of the drawing cards!

A little background info is needed on this for you, since it is almost a "you had to have had to be there" situation:

1). It is from the "Stereo 98" days of WFGM...probably 1981. That would be pre-"Great 98". This is the Doc Fabre, Pete Hunter, Jeff Carpenter, John Turner, Kim Thorne, Randy Renaldo, Jean Murdock, Denny Burnworth, Earl, Joyce, Conrad and me era.

2). It is done by Dave Loudin. No, not THAT Dave Loudin! This is "Honest" Dave Loudin AKA "Elgin From The Big Apple". Many of you may remember him from the Broadcasting classes from Fairmont State with Chuck Manley from 1980-1983 or so.

3). Dave used to hang out with me and Conrad at 98 during the overnites and one night around three in the morning he said, "Hey...can I use the Marantz while you read the news?" and I said, "Sure".

4). If you were ever in the old FGM studios you will know where everything is taking place and the sounds are just as real today to me as they were back then. I also feel it is necessary to post this since I used one of the more memorable lines from it in my original post ("Lotta smoke blowed in here").

5). This is the result. It should be considered NSFW. It's got one offensive word in it, but I think I ought to label it that way.
