PORTSMOUTH, Ohio — A Wheelersburg, Ohio, man had his hand cut off by a sword and is listed in serious but stable condition at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, according to a news release from the office of Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini.

Detectives from the sheriff’s department arrested Dustin R. Walker, 31, of Wheelersburg, on a charge of felonious assault and transported him to the Scioto County Jail. Walker was being held in lieu of $7,500, according to the release.

The sheriff’s department received a 911 call earlier this month from a Clay Street resident in Wheelersburg stating that a man had arrived at his door with an amputated hand saying he had been in a fight.

Detectives located a sword believed to have been used in an altercation, according to the release.
The victim was treated at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth before being transferred to a hospital in Columbus.

I'm reminded of the SNL skit many moons ago about a Medieval court. The guy had both of his hands cut off after successive robberies. The third time he was brought in, he was accused of rape.
