Kindred Building (formerly WOWK-TV)

If it's about broadcasting, radio, TV, satellite, cable, this is where to talk about it.

Kindred Building (formerly WOWK-TV)

Post by genlock »

The Herald-Dispatch

Renovations are under way in the former WOWK-TV building at 555 5th Ave. in Huntington, after Kindred Communications and a partner purchased it from West Virginia Media for an undisclosed price.

Committed to staying in downtown Huntington, Kindred President Mike Kirtner said Kindred is renovating the building with the help of developers Philip Nelson and Jim Weiler of Capital Venture Corp., the leasing agent on the property.

Space will be leased to other tenants besides Kindred, including WOWK-TV. Within the past year, West Virginia Media moved most of its Huntington WOWK-TV operations to its new Charleston office, but it will lease some space in the building.

The facility will be called the Kindred Capital Building when finished, Kirtner said.

Congratulations to Kindred. Nice to see someone investing in Huntington.
Good business decision to buy the building and sub-let the space you don't need.
A tip of the hat to Mike Kirtner and staff.

Nice, very nice . Congrats to Mike and staff. Very nice place. I know kindred was looking for a place after the flood and the wowk building is a perfect, it's already built for broadcasting. I think it is an awesome move. :D
